  1. Is there consideration for families with multiple students. Yes. Families enrolling multiple students will automatically receive and multi-student discount of 15%.
  2. Are students required to come everyday.  No. Students are not required to come everyday; however full time is 3 or more days a week.
  3. Is there a drop in or as needed rate.  Yes. The daily rate for this program is $50 a day.
  4. My family is not considered to be in the low income tax bracket , but due to COVID-19 we have experienced severe financial hardship. Can we still apply for assistance? Yes. The criteria for subsidy assistance is not based solely on income, but rather on a combination of income, living expenses, and hardship.  In the online eligibility application, upload supporting documents and submit a letter of hardship.
  5. What are the payment options? Parents can chose to pay monthly or weekly via automatic payments setup within their personal parent portal.
  6. Is this program only for low income families? No. The center is open to any family in need of support.
  7. Are there any additional financial assistance? Individual schools may have additional assistance available for their families.  Contact your child’s school social worker for more information.
  8. What are the ages/grades of the students that will be there? The center will service elementary and middle students. Furthermore, middle school students will be kept separate from elementary students.
  9. Will AKCCL assist with teaching?  No.  AKCCL staff will not take the place of the teacher’s virtual instruction or provide education in place of the teacher’s instruction during school hours.  However, AKCCL will provide indirect support to both the teacher and the parent through student management and technical support.  Additional tutoring may be available during aftercare/extended care hours.
  10. Will there be an educator on staff, and if so, will she help students that may need help? Yes. There will be an educator on staff.  They will always naturally act within their vocation and educate when needed. Just be advised, they will respect the student’s teacher providing virtual instruction and will not over step. There main purpose is to guide the student through virtual learning.
  11. My child needs tutoring.  Will someone be able to tutor him? Yes. However, tutoring is available during aftercare.  One on one tutoring is also available during aftercare. Parents can sign up for as needed.
  12. Will my child receive assistance with assignments throughout the day. Yes. We will not usurp the teacher’s authority or instruction; however during accountability checks, we will review assignments for accuracy and completion and provide feedback as needed.
