Our Mission

Our mission is to be a powerful and effective resource to communities providing quality performance-based academic programs and social services, increasing educational equality within schools and communities, creating additional and alternative education and career pathways for youth and families, while establishing  solutions and resources to address emerging community needs and hardships.

Our Organization

AKCCL was established in 2012 for the purpose of providing educational services to children, human services to the elderly, disabled, and the developmentally delayed, and charitable outreach services to the community.  AKCCL is guided by a board of directors from Louisiana and Mississippi. These members hold true to the mission of the company and bring expertise that will help successfully guide the executive staff in managing the company.  Because of their ongoing support of the programs, the executive staff is able to address the needs of the community and provide solutions to issues that arise.  Due to the low socioeconomic status of many families in our community, discontinued education and poor health and human services are some particular areas of adversity these families face.  These conditions are addressed by our three areas of focus: Alternative School and Family Support Programs (Academic Based After-school Programs), Home and Community Based Services, and Community Outreach.

AKCCL is operated by individuals with experience working in educational agencies such as the Maine Department of Education, the Delaware Department of Education, and the East Baton Rouge School System.  Also, we have staff members that have experience teaching in Prince George’s County and Charles County School Systems, both of which are located in the state of Maryland.  Moreover, executive staff members have had the opportunity of working with various, local after-school programs in the Baton Rouge area.

AKCCL has a very skilled and diverse healthcare team with over 12 years of experience working with the elderly and disabled. Our executive staff has experience working with companies that offer Home and Community-Based Service. Many members of the organizations are former Personal Care Attendants (PCA), Sitters, and Direct Service Workers (DSW) with firsthand experience caring for individuals, and they understand the importance of providing quality service to enrich the lives of the elderly and disabled.
