A Kingdom Connection Changing Lives was chosen by the City of Baton Rouge’s 2018 ReCAST (Resiliency of a Community after Stress & Trauma) initiative to serve students in poverty and trauma impacted areas of 70805, 70802, and 70810.
AKCCL provides academic-based enrichment programs with a social emotional framework for students, while providing support to working parents after school and during the summer months, and additional academic support to schools. The goal of the programs are to increase the academic achievement of students in the areas of Mathematics and Reading, reduce academic regression, while preparing them for various school, district, and statewide testing. These programs create opportunities for youth to excel academically, socially, and personally, while providing alternative programs to keep youth who are without supervision from unhealthy or negative environments not conducive to positive socio-emotional growth and development.
